- Duration of Course: 12 hrs (Training), followed with Assessment (1.5 hrs)
Course Objectives
At end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Operate basic security system & equipment so that they can perform their duties effectively & professionally
- Attain a statement of attainment (SOA) for this competency unit with the aim of achieving the WSQ Security Certificate in Security Operations
This is one of the mandatory courses, as required under the PWM1, for licensed Security Officer (SO) to attain prior to be upgraded to Senior Security Officer.
Course Outcome
On completion of this module, learners shall be able to have the knowledge & application skills to perform the following:
- Operate Access Control Equipment
- Operate Alarm Monitoring Equipment
- Operate CCTV Monitoring Equipment

Candidates who signed up for this course MUST meet the following pre-requisites:
- Listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills WSQ (ES WSQ) Level 4
- Read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills WSQ (ES WSQ) Level 4
