Course Objectives

At end of this course, learners will be able to:
This competency unit specifies the knowledge and skills required of a security officer to describe the key components in transference of knowledge at a job site. It allows the security officer to be familiarize with the new working environment and the organisational procedures. It gives them understanding of their new roles and responsibilities. There are many reasons and
methods in performing such a task. In this segment, we will focus on developing a workplace learning plan using competency-based training.
This is one of the mandatory courses, as required under the PWM1 , for licensed Senior Security Officer (SSO) to attain prior to be upgraded to Security Supervisor

Course Outcome

On completion of this module, learners shall be able to have the knowledge & application skills to perform the following:

  • Develop workplace learning plan using appropriate workplace learning methods
  • Prepare to facilitate workplace learning
  • Provide on-the-job instruction, coaching to increase the capability and performance of team members
  • Communicate expectations of team performance in a positive manner
  • Facilitate workplace learning using workplace learning plan
  • Provide feedback on work progress

Pre-requisite Skills & Knowledge

Candidates who signed up for this course MUST meet the following pre-requisites:

  • Listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills WSQ (ES WSQ) Level 4
  • Read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills WSQ (ES WSQ) Level 4
